Like every first and third Saturday I alighted at Chiplun railway station. Train was couple of hours late so connecting bus had gone. Amruta could not come to receive me as she was busy in meeting. It was 1 pm and auto fare hiked as that of humidity and hotness. Generally I pay whatever auto fare but this time something different triggered in my mind. I decided to WALK. 1 pm, sun in peak hours, no cap no sun glasses, 5kg Pooja basmati rice in bag, 3-4 km distance but walking is like once upon a time thing for me. Still I decided to take WALK and brain ordered legs via pumping heart.
Journey began. Within 2 minutes 1/4th water bottle was empty and hanky on my head and I stopped at Gandhareshwar bridge. Vashishthi river, noticeable cool change in temperature, water sports of birds.. I moved on after relaxing there for few minutes. Foot steps, sweating, skin burning, shouts of legs continued. I felt thirsty but I decided to build it further. Road seemed too long so I kept eye on short distance landmarks. Muradpur-Ganapati temple-Shankarwadi-Swami Samarth Math and see I reached home along with lots of sweat, dusty face, paining legs but joyful heart! Wow! I walked.
At home I pampered my body with shower droplets giving cooling effect, 2 glasses of Mango Panhe quenching thirst, Aloe Vera on eyes and legs inside warm salty water. Amasing feeling! In recent years I have bike, car, sitting job, autos any time available but I had forgotten that I have legs too who can walk. I felt so much masti, zing which cannot be experienced by having Johnnie Walker in A.C room. So now onwards this Siddhu Walker is going to take frequent WALKs. Whats your legs say to your heart?
